Course Outline

In order to achieve the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) learners must complete the mandatory units.

Overview

The aim of the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is to develop learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills of emergency first aid at work.  The qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to administer first aid procedures in the workplace by becoming a qualified first aider.   

In achieving the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), all learners will cover essentials of First Aid, including roles and responsibilities, incident assessment and managing and administering First Aid to casualties in a variety of situations. These situations could relate to breathing, chocking, bleeding, shock and minor injuries as well as casualties with sudden poisoning, anaphylaxis and suspected major illness. 

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) meets the Health and Safety Executive (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 in respect of First Aid at Work, Resuscitations Council (UK) Guidelines, First Aid at Work Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1982 (Northern Ireland) and is aimed at those who work or intend to work for a range of organisations. All employers are required by law to have a First Aid provision for their employees.

Learner Assessment & Certification

Each learner is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.
